Within the five burroughs of New York City there are few things you cannot find or have access to. Weather however does limit some of the excursions that New Yorkers can enjoy. Now a movie and splendor in the grass in January is not something that has to be missed.
One of my favorite daily emails comes from UrbanDaddy. I like to think of the website as a very cool older cousin who is not paternal at all and tries to bring you every inch of decadence that Manhattan could offer. One of their latest announcements does not fail: a 5,000 square foot indoor park in Nolita.
Now until January 30th the indoor oasis is screening films on Fridays & Saturdays and offering catered picnics to patrons. Tonight’s film is Dazed & Confused and is paired with a kegger-type menu of eats by Shake Shack & drinks for $85. Tomorrow night The Little Owl is catering a Pig Roast to complete their Hawaiian themed screening of Forgetting Sarah Marshall for $125. Included in the evening is “blanket” service and an open bar.
If you want to test out the waters first, visiting the indoor park is free M-F 11am-6pm. You can play bocce ball, croquet and take part in yoga everyday from 12pm-1pm!
Need I say more? Will I venture over? Perhaps if the menu & movie are right…but for now my evenings are filled with other excursions! To purchase tickets sign up for UrbanDaddy’s daily emails & have a blast…and don’t worry they won’t let you be a single Sally…tickets can only be bought in pairs.
