This 21 locale definitely is not the clothing store. Upon entering this iconic New York restaurant, you feel as if you are transported to another time. The atmosphere has a certain je ne sais quoi…and so while I sat sipping my glass of Sancerre, all the while admiring the knick knacks that seemed to be specially curated on the wall, I decided I would do a little research on the history of the 21 Club. I learned it began as a prohibition era speakeasy and that the knick knacks hanging on the ceiling were gifts from successful patrons. Countless references in pop culture add to the certain mystique of the Club. In my personal experience however, the reason to go is the personel. True to their word, the reason why the Club is special is because of the staffing. It always feels great to know that someone got it right; and especially at 21 you know they did a long time ago. So if you’re not a true blue New Yorker and more of a transplant like me, I highly recommend stopping in even for a cocktail to get a little taste of a New York that is now only rarely seen.

Hi Blog World!
I started this blog out of my sheer curious nature and my interest in New York City. I hope to fill it with recommendations of NYC restaurants, city living tips, and travel experiences (when I do leave the city). Please always feel free to share insights on places I talk about & the things discussed. Check out my photos at:
