My new favorite show is hands down Selling New York. Since I’ve been living like a vagabond since graduating from high school and moving from dorm room to dorm room and then to my apartment post college, I’ve never really had a big inclination to watch HGTV. Crafts and I do not really mix, I’m usually all thumbs and when I sit to do something intricate my hands are not the steady kind. Its safe to say that I couldn’t cut it as a surgeon. However there is one thing that has drawn me to the channel as of late: real estate. in NYC. enough said for me.
I have always loved checking out real estate- seeing the upswing and downswing of the market, how location, proximity to a metropolis, water, nature, etc. affects asking price. It’s quite thrilling, even though I’ve never been in the market myself to purchase anything- and probably won’t be for quite some time.
Now that I live in NYC where 1,000 square feet can cost half a million dollars its even more intriguing to me to see what is out there and what it’s going for. I definitely recommend this show. Some of the real estate agents are hard to tolerate on large doses…but thats why the mute button exists. The variety of apartments shown in size, price and style have got me hooked!
So whether you are in the market to buy or just like to drool over properties like me- check out Selling New York, now in its second season. Thursdays 9pm HGTV. Or watch online:
